Create a Profile Activity (Sunday December 4 2011)

For this activity, me and my partners worked together to analyze a variety of different clues and come to a conclusion about what we need to do and what we know.

here are the different clues we observed:
Clue1: 4 fingerprints:
   1 plain whorl
   2. ulnar loop
   3.ulnar loop
   4.ulnar loop

Clue2: Hair- belongs to an African American. color is dark brown. the edges are frayed and scaly

Clue 3. Letter: states" "you will never find her".
    1. large and curly loops
    2. an odd mix of print and cursive letters
   3. it flows smoothly
   4. the "t"s have strange crosses.and "i"s have strange dots

Clue 4: Hair: short length/ cut edges. smooth and sleek. possibly Caucasian.

Clue 5: smear. pink. possibly lip-gloss.  no definite shape.

What do we know for sure?
We know that there were two people involved and that one of them is the owner of those fingerprints. The people involved were African American and Caucasian.

What do I need additional testing on?
We need to perform a DNA test on the hair samples, to determine what the pink stain is, and to match the fingerprints to the proper person.

What do I not Know?
We are uncertain of the stain which was found and the identity of the two people involved.

Initial Profile:
An African American male kidnapped a Caucasian female and the fingerprints found belong to the criminal who captured the girl. The stain could have resulted from either a fight or a lip gloss stain.

Next Steps:
To compare the fingerprints to the online database
To perform a DNA test on the two hairs found.
To perform a chromatography test on the stain found.

the whole idea of solving this mystery is very cool!
I like how you listed the details this time, although, it doesn't seem that detailed this time.
but its ok ^-^ still is great!

I like how even though you found all the clues, there is still more work to be done in order to figure out who the people were!
very thought provoking :)

I also noticed that the analysis wasn't to detailed this time for the clues.
but don't worry. you did a fantastic job in whole !

I am really happy for you Isai :D
